Previously we wrote about what to wear during a class. In this post, we will cover what additional things you should bring to your workout.

Here are the 5 things you should bring with you to your Reformer class:

  • Water bottle
  • Towel
  • Change of Clothes
  • Grip Socks
  • Protein Shake/Bar
  •

    Water Bottle

You should be drinking water before, during and after your Pilates session. Hydration is very important because it can lubricate your joints and regulate your body temperature. Dehydration can lead to dizziness, muscle cramps and other serious issues. (1)

There is nothing worse than cramping up during a workout session, so be sure to hydrate!

    Workout Towel

During a tough Pilates Workout, some people may sweat a lot, so bringing a towel is always a good idea. Having sweat pour into your eyes and mouth when working out can be distracting and irritating, so having something to dry off can be very beneficial.

    Change of clothes

To the previous point, having fresh clothes to change into after a workout can be nice especially if you have a long car ride/walk home from your studio.

    Grip Socks

Wearing grip socks is not mandatory, but it can certainly make your workout much better.

They can prevent slipping and protect your feet. There is no worse feeling than having your feet slip when you are pushing off a foot bar or using straps.

    Protein Supplement (Bar/Shake)

Protein intake after your Pilates workout can help with recovery and promote muscle growth. (2)

If you aren’t planning on eating right after your workout, having a protein supplement on hand can be beneficial.
